Project Manager – Glass Division


Position Reports To: Manager of Project Management | FLSA:Non-Exempt

General Summary

The Project Manager uses their excellent communication skills to manage fire-rated and architectural glass projects/orders, and associated customer service issues by becoming the customer’s primary post-sale contact. The range of projects may include all product types offered by Technical Glass Products (TGP), including but not limited to the entire FireLite® product line, WireLite®, X-ray and Pilkington Pyrostop®, as well as TGP Architectural products such as Neopariés® and Pilkington Profilit™. Though primarily responsible for a single territory or region grouping, the Project Manager will also backup others in the department when needed.

Essential Functions

Manage customer relationship post-sale.
Administer each Project through entire lifecycle including but not limited to:

  • Creating the Order Entry and/or quotation.
  • Submitting order entry and product data to customer for approval.
  • Creating custom sample orders as requested.
  • Receiving, interpreting, and communicating revisions or requests for change with internal teams and with client.
  • Controlling potential change orders.
  • Notifying customer of schedule changes.
  • Reconciling and collecting any prepayments required up to time of final invoice.
  • Coordinating release of shipment with logistics group.
  • Monitoring and reporting on project status at various points in lifecycle.
  • Resolve post-delivery issues (Customer Service Issues) including but not limited to:
  • Listen to and document complaint from customer.
  • Work interdepartmentally as needed to identify root cause.
  • Interpret data to determine if customer should be charged.
  • Manage and document all costs associated with post-delivery issues.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

A minimum of four (4) years of related experience in a manufacturing, construction or related customer service environment.

Production Finish Welder


Position Reports To: Production Supervisor | FLSA:Non-Exempt

General Summary

The Production Finish Welder is responsible for set up, fitting, welding and finishing preparation of all parts and assemblies that comprise TGP’s product lines.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates with the supervisors or weld prep and scheduling position for all work.
  • Checks material for defects and correct dimensions.
  • Verifies all operations have been completed as specified on the documents.
  • Reports all issues and inconsistencies.
  • Uses Non-Conformance Reports (NCR)’s for materials and operations not in compliance.
  • Initiates corrective actions to get NCR’s resolved and get material back into production.
  • Expedites orders through welding as required.
  • Operates all equipment per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), in a safe manner.
  • Organizes & maintain the areas around the welding area.
  • Improves work flow, work processes or work procedures as needed.
  • Writes Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) is required.
  • Maintains equipment and tools as required by the manufacturer and as directed.
  • Trains additional team members.
  • Proficient in assigned welding techniques.
  • Metal finishing work performed using manual and power tools.
  • Periodic welding AND finishing test required to keep current proficiency status.
  • Performs multiple operations simultaneously often required.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal team members

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

  • High School diploma.
  • WABO or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in metal finishing preferred.
  • 2 years of welding experience preferred.
  • MIG & TIG experience preferred.
  • Stainless steel experience preferred.
  • Strong metal finishing skills
  • Provide high quality internal customer service.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to read blueprints, production and technical drawings.
  • Able to complete assigned tasks in a limited time frame.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Remains alert in a high risk environment.
  • Assesses priorities to determine what is urgently needed.
  • Maintains schedule and tasks in spite of interruptions.
